The internet is convinced Kermit the Frog's new girlfriend looks like a 'Game of Thrones' character

"The Muppets" will be rebooted in an ABC sitcom series airing this fall, but some controversial drama about the characters is already brewing online. Ms. Piggy and Kermit the Frog announced last month they went their separate ways, and now the famous green muppet is being rumored to have already moved on.

Yesterday, a new photo of a new female character named Denise was released. Almost immediately, Twitter users began buzzing about this betrayal of previous pig-frog monogamy. 

And then, the comparisons began rolling in. Multiple people believe that Denise looks very similar to "Game of Thrones" character Margaery Tyrell: a seductive and cunning queen on the hit HBO series.

Kermit's own Twitter released a statement on Tuesday, stating that he and Denise are "simply close friends" - but that's not quelling the uproar.
