Savvy employers know how to keep their workers happy. A mix of great pay, low-stress environments, flexible schedules, and meaningful work often correlates with high job satisfaction.

These were the very factors used to determine our second annual list of the 50 Best Employers In America. The ranking is based on exclusive survey data from PayScale, which asked employees across hundreds of companies, "How satisfied are you in your job?"

Respondents could select "extremely satisfied" or "fairly satisfied."

The higher the percentage of extremely satisfied workers, the higher the score that company received. (You can find the full methodology here.)
