  • The final "Deadpool 2" trailer dropped online Thursday and it gives the best look yet at Josh Brolin's villain.
  • In the trailer, Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool recruits a team of superhumans to protect a young mutant from the time-traveling mercenary Cable.
  • The trailer takes jabs at everything from DC movies to "Avengers: Infinity War" villain Thanos, who Brolin also plays.

The final trailer for "Deadpool 2" was released Thursday and it's full of the R-rated, fourth-wall-breaking action and humor that made the first movie a box-office hit.

Ryan Reynolds returns as the mutant assassin Deadpool and in the sequel he's protecting a young mutant from the time-traveling mercenary Cable, played by Josh Brolin.

In the trailer, Deadpool recruits a team of superhumans to take on Cable. That team includes Domino (Zazie Beetz), who describes her superpower as being "lucky" - to which Deadpool responds, "Being lucky isn't a superpower and it's certainly not very cinematic."

Terry Crews also shows up in the trailer as a character on Deadpool's team named Bedlam, along with returning characters from the first movie, Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and Colossus (Stefan Kapicic).

The trailer pokes fun at the fact that Josh Brolin is also playing the villain in "Avengers: Infinity War" ("pump the hate brakes, Thanos") and takes a jab at DC movies. Cable tells Deadpool he's "just a clown dressed up as a sex toy" and Deadpool responds, "So dark, you sure you're not from the DC universe?"

The first "Deadpool" in 2016 opened to over $150 million over a four-day weekend, then the highest February opening before "Black Panther" broke the record this year. "Deadpool" went on to gross over $780 million worldwide.

"Deadpool 2" comes to theaters May 18.
