With New Rochelle trailing by two with less than three seconds remaining in their New York sectional final, their inbounds pass was intercepted by Mt. Vernon and it appeared the game was over. But when the Mt. Vernon player threw the ball up in the air to run out the clock, his heave was caught by Khalil Edney who then made a shot from the opposite side of the court to win the game.
The shot was initially ruled to be after the buzzer, and watching it live sure makes it seem that way. But the refs changed the call, and replays at the 2:35 mark of the video below shows the ball was released with time still on the clock.
