For the ninth consecutive year, the Dallas Cowboys are the most valuable team in the NFL, according to Forbes' annual ranking of football franchises.

This year, the Cowboys' $4 billion valuation also lands them ahead of the European soccer behemoth Real Madrid, making "America's Team" also the most valuable in all of sports.

According to Forbes, the Cowboys have profited from owner Jerry Jones' "shrewd" marketing tactics and the "gold mine" that is AT&T Stadium. The stadium pulls in tons of revenue from concerts and other sporting events. Here's the breakdown:

In 2014, the Cowboys generated revenue of $620 million - a record for a U.S. sports team - and ranked first in the NFL in average attendance (90,000), premium seating revenue ($120 million) and stadium revenue generated from non-NFL events ($30 million).

The New England Patriots and Washington Redskins round out the three most valuable NFL teams, valued at $3.2 billion and $2.85 billion, respectively. Here are the top 10:

  1. Dallas Cowboys ($4 billion)
  2. New England Patriots ($3.2 billion)
  3. Washington Redskins ($2.85 billion)
  4. New York Giants (2.8 billion)
  5. San Francisco 49ers (2.7 billion)
  6. New York Jets ($2.6 billion)
  7. Houston Texans ($2.5 billion)
  8. Chicago Bears ($2.45 billion)
  9. Philadelphia Eagles ($2.4 billion)
  10. Green Bay Packers ($1.95 billion)
