Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield saw his business communication app's private valuation skyrocket over the last two years, raising more than $330 million at a whopping $2.8 billion price tag.

But Butterfield says he wouldn't be surprised to see his company suddenly wipe out more than half of its value some day.
The reason? Because history repeats and a market correction is inevitable.
