Get ready to replace everything in your house.

The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) has announced the gold and silver candidates for its 2016 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). The competition recognizes designers and artists that have achieved excellence in product design &mdash everything from nifty flower pots to high-tech disease-fighting solutions.

There are 73 candidates for the top prizes, selected from a pool of more than 1,700 projects from over 30 countries.

The grand prize winners will be announced August 17, but in the meantime, here our some of our favorites.
