The Atlanta Braves are reportedly 'interested' in signing Tim Tebow
According to the report, the Braves were one of five teams that had one-on-one interviews with Tebow following his recent baseball showcase.
The move makes sense for the Braves. Tebow is from nearby Jacksonville and first became a national sensation while playing at the University of Florida, an area of the state that already has a lot of Braves fans.
The Braves also stand to make a lot of money off the signing and at the same time help out their minor league affiliates.
If Tebow does sign a minor league contract, not only will they sell Tebow jerseys, the Braves will be able to assign him to one of their low-level minor league clubs., That will boost that team's attendance and merchandise sales.
In addition, the Braves will be able to invite Tebow to spring training in Lake Buena Vista, near Orlando, smack dab in the middle of Tebowmania.
