The fresh pool of talent from Gen Z has high future earnings in its crosshairs but also realises that having a good work environment is the key. Considering that the work place is where you spend one-third of your life, it’s important that the brand you work for aligns with your short-term as well as long-term career goals.

A recent report by Universum asked 118,067 engineering students, across the 12 largest economies in the world, what their ideal workplace would be.

Despite reports indicating that Amazon might not be the best place work, it’s sprinted forward in its rankings. And Facebook’s controversial business outlook between the Cambridge Analytica scandal and election intervention seems have had an effect with the company sliding down on the list.

Circumstances changed for both players, but only seems to have adversely affected the one. While Amazon has somehow been able to overcome its obstacles, Facebook has been unable to restore trust among Gen Z.

Google, Microsoft and Apple, on the other hand, secured the top three spots as the best place to work for in 2018. Here’s the full list:
