Miami, Florida came in as the eighth most expensive US city for renters.

Knowing a city's rent prices can be helpful when deciding where to settle down.

Residential real-estate rental website Zumper recently released its National Rent Report, which analyzes more than one million active one-bedroom and two-bedroom listings across the United States to determine the most expensive cities in the country for renters.

For the second time in six months, six of the top 20 cities on the list hail from California.
