This year marks the first year of the European Science Photo competition. Scientists and photographers from around Europe have submitted their stunning entries to the competition. Then winners will be chosen at the end of the year.

The competition is run by Wikipedia and is the result of the Estonian Science Photo Competition, which ran successfully from 2011 to 2013.

As an environment dedicated to making education free for everyone, Wikipedia is hosting the competition in a bid to make science accessible to people around the world.
