2. The US government shutdown is hurting the nation's (already backlogged) immigration system. The record shutdown is having a "devastating impact" on immigration courts.
3. Now, who's running for president in 2020? Senator Kirsten Gillibrand from New York, announced on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" that she is forming an exploratory committee.
4. A leaked memo reveals new workplace guidelines at Facebook. There appear to be new "ground rules" at the company including, "Don't try to change someone's politics or religion."
5. Netflix's 18% price hike may be an issue in the long run, one analyst predicts. New streaming services are being developed, which could mean a loss of content and more competition.
6. British Prime Minister Theresa May has endured an historic defeat. MPs really, really didn't like her Brexit plan.
7. A US citizen is thought to be among the at least 15 dead in Nairobi. Gunmen stormed an upscale hotel and office complex in the heart of Kenya's capital city, in an apparent attack from the Islamist group al Shabaab.
8. JPMorgan just posted its worst bond trading results since the financial crisis. Its going to be tough reporting season.
