1. A Belgian court decided on Thursday that Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam could be extradited to France, public broadcaster VRT said. It could still take a few weeks before Abdeslam is extradited as the court wants to question him in connection with the recent terrorist attacks in Brussels.
2. North Korea appeared to have fired a missile into the sea off its east coast on Friday, the South's military said, hours after the leaders of South Korea, Japan, and the United States warned Pyongyang to end provocations.
3. A gunman and state trooper are dead after a shooting incident at a Greyhound bus station in Richmond, Virginia. A police spokeswoman said that a uniformed Virginia state trooper was talking to a man inside the station when the man drew a handgun and shot the trooper multiple times.
4. The death toll in the collapse of a flyover under construction in the Indian city of Kolkata rose to 23 on Friday, after rescuers worked through the night to clear huge slabs of steel and concrete.
5. Chinese insurance giant Anbang is walking away from its $14 billion bid for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. Anbang was leading a group of bidders which said in a statement it would not proceed further "due to various market considerations."
6. Britain's minimum wage rises by 7.5 percent on Friday. Around 1.8 million employees will benefit from the new National Living Wage (NLW).
8. A car bomb attack killed four Turkish police officers and wounded 20 other people in the southeastern city of Diyarbakir on Thursday. It is the latest violence to hit the biggest city in the largely Kurdish region.
9. Activity levels across China's manufacturing sector expanded for the first time in eight months in March, according to a report from China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The government's manufacturing purchasing managers index (PMI) rose 1.2 points to 50.2.
