1. Russia dropped bombs on an area in Syria controlled by rebels who are not believed to be connected with the Islamic State, even though Moscow claims the airstrikes were meant to target ISIS.

2. Afghan forces have retaken control of the northern city of Kunduz after it was seized by the Taliban on Monday.

3. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, speaking to the United Nations General Assembly, accused Israel of undermining US peace efforts in past years and that it would no longer consider itself "bound" by the accords signed with Israel in the mid-1990s.

4. Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban said at a United Nations meeting on Wednesday that Europe will be "destabilized" if the mass flows of migrants and refugees continues.
