1. Two gunmen were killed after they opened fire Sunday night at a contest for cartoon depictions of the Prophet Muhammad in Texas.

2. The death toll from the Nepal earthquake, which has risen above 7,000 with more than 14,000 injured, is expected to climb much higher as rescuers reach remote areas.

3. A protest against police brutality led by thousands of Ethiopian-Israelies in Tel Aviv turned violent Sunday night, resulting in dozens of injuries and arrests.
