1. French authorities began bulldozing the southern half of the "Jungle" migrant camp in the northern port city of Calais on Monday. There were violent clashes between police and migrants, with rocks thrown and shelters set on fire.

2. Former Bank of England Governor Lord Mervyn King says governments around the world need "the courage to undertake bold reforms" to prevent the global economy falling into another financial crisis.

3. Anshu Jain, Deutsche Bank's former co-CEO, is joining American finance company SoFi. SoFi attracted $1 billion (£720 million) of investor money last year, valuing it at more than $4 billion and making it one of the biggest financial technology companies in the world.

4. Russian police on Monday arrested a nanny for beheading a young girl in her care, investigators said, with local media reporting she was arrested while carrying the child's severed head.

5. Deposits into Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak's bank accounts ran to hundreds of millions of dollars more than previously identified by probes into state fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.

6. Apple and the FBI will make their cases before a congressional panel on Tuesday regarding a court order to force the technology company to give the FBI data from the iPhone belonging to one of the San Bernardino shooters.

7. The UN Security Council plans to vote on a resolution that would dramatically expand existing sanctions on North Korea in response to its nuclear test in January, the US mission to the United Nations said.

8. Bill Maris, the man in charge of Google's venture capital wing Google Ventures, says there is "deep insecurity" in European technology that leads companies to think they're "not good enough."

9. The battle for online-video supremacy is no longer just a contest between YouTube and Facebook. Snapchat has emerged as a new powerhouse, with the revelation that users of the service now watch eight billion videos every day.

10. Intercontinental Exchange - the owner of the New York Stock Exchange - is considering making a counter bid for the London Stock Exchange, Bloomberg News reports. This comes just a week after the LSE confirmed it was in merger talks with Germany's Deutsche Boerse.
