The 10 British towns which have the fastest and slowest broadband in the country
The consumer broadband advice site conducted speed tests over the last 12 months throughout the UK to find the country's towns and villages with the fastest and slowest broadband speeds, measured in Mbps (megabits per second).
In the best place to be online, one resident reported a record speed of 195 Mbps - that's approximately 1,625 times faster than 0.12 Mbps, the slowest speed recorded in the worst place to be online.
Of the five most sluggish towns and villages to make the list, two are in Cumbria, while according to the study all have slower broadband than the base camp at Mount Everest, where the connection runs at a minimum speed of 2 Mbps via satellite.
