Tesla had fun today.

It announced the "Model W", which is a watch. As you may know, today is April Fool's Day. So, this is just a joke. But, it's also a little bit more than just a joke.

Apple is about to release the Apple Watch, which is why Tesla did the "Model W" joke. Apple is also reportedly developing an electric car. And Apple has reportedly been poaching Tesla employees.

It would therefore appear that Tesla's joke is a little dig at Apple.

And, before you dismiss this as nonsense, here's the last line on Tesla's blog post announcing the Model W: "This is in no way a competitive response to what some other company is doing."

Perhaps it's just an innocent joke! But we think there's a little more to it.

Here's the full post from Tesla:

Japan, Timbuktu, California, anywhere! This will change your life. Reality as you know it will never be the same.

Studies have shown the Model W will dramatically improve your health. If you work out. And it's available in platinum!
