The next major PlayStation 4 exclusive is unbelievably pretty
"Gravity Rush 2" was created by Sony's internal Japan Studio team. That's important, because that's the team behind some of PlayStation's best stuff.
These are the folks who know how to pull every bit of power out of Sony's hardware, and it shows:
These are all images pulled from the game itself — this is how it actually looks in action:
Okay, so, what's this game about? It's a third-person action-adventure game starring a woman named Kat (below) who can essentially fly:
This is Kat. She has a cat.
Kat has mystical powers that enable her to re-orient physics around her at will. She can change the flow of gravity, thus "flying" in that direction:
She can also use this power on objects other than herself.
You may have noticed that the world Kat's in doesn't look anything like Earth. That's because it's a fantastical world made up of floating cities.
There are flying cars alongside windmills — it's quite a place.
The story of "Gravity Rush 2" has Kat partnering with Raven (left), still in search of her origins.
There's a bit of a battle system in "Gravity Rush 2," but it's largely automated by the game — the focus of the series is movement and traversal. It's fun to fly around!
When need be, though, Kat is more than happy to throw down. But you should also expect to accidentally go flying off in the middle of a fight. Such is the life of Kat.
