The new Moto Z is one of the best looking smartphones of 2016
The new Moto Z looks great from the front.
The back has a two-tone look that looks very classy.
There's a faint striped pattern on the back that gives the Moto Z's back a sophisticated look.
The camera bulges out a lot, but I don't mind camera bulges. Plus, the camera itself looks sleek and modern.
One thing I'm not fond of is the comparatively large bottom bezel. In my eyes, the smaller the bezel the better.
Some in the TI office didn't like the magnetic mod connector, but I think it gives a nice gold accent that contrasts nicely against the dark color scheme of the dark Moto Z.
While everything I mentioned so far is well and good, the best part about the new Moto Z is that it's incredibly thin. At 5.2mm it's thinner than the 7.1mm iPhone 6s Plus.
It's also noticeably lighter. Combined with the slim design, the Moto Z is a very nice phone to hold and use.
It also comes in a gold color option, which looks even better than the dark model.
The general consensus at the TI office is that the Galaxy S7 phones are still the best looking smartphones of the year.
But the Moto Z is certainly in the same league.
The new Moto Z and Moto Z Force smartphones will be sold under the "Droid" name as Verizon exclusives when they're first released this summer.
The Moto Z will become available to other carriers later this fall, but the Z Force will remain a Verizon exclusive.
