The 13 tech gadgets on our wish lists this year
Ben Gilbert, senior correspondent: Not that I'm asking anyone for $400 presents, but if you really wanna go wild then I'd love a PlayStation VR headset.
Gilbert: I suppose I'd accept a Mega Man Pixel Pal, but you should know that I'll take it as a sign that we're just acquaintances. Good acquaintances! But acquaintances nonetheless.
Jeff Dunn: Google Pixel. Not the XL one, the normal, 5-inch one. Or "normal," because nobody makes genuinely powerful phones that you can reasonably use with one hand. Truly unhindered Android is tops, too, and the camera is the single best I've ever used.
Dunn: Doppler Labs Here One. I am both frightened and weirdly ready for someone to get the "hearable" concept right. I don't know if the Here One is that, and it's not coming until next year, but my past demo showed lots of promise. If the final product is anything like that, it'll be a trip.
Biz Carson, senior reporter: Spectacles! The sunglasses made by Snapchat are top on my list to try. They're supposed to be a fun way to share your world on Snapchat through an entirely different point of view, since the glasses record what you see in the world around you. They're hard to get but there is one store in NYC where you can find them. Please, New York friends, snag me a pair?
Steve Kovach, senior correspondent: NES Classic: It's a shame Nintendo didn't make enough of these. Everyone knew it was going to be a hit except for Nintendo, apparently. I tried buying one on launch day through Amazon and the site pretty much exploded under all the demand. Bummer. I guess I'll just hold out for the new Nintendo Switch next year instead.
Kif Leswing, reporter: If I'm being honest, I want a HoloLens. Who's getting it for me?
Matt Weinberger, reporter: Beats Solo3! I am inspired by Apple's courage to rush headlong into our jack-less future.
Alex Heath, reporter: The NES Classic because I’m a huge Nintendo nerd.
Heath: I would also like a nice pair of in-ear headphones, but I'm not sure what to get.
Julie Bort, enterprise editor: I'd like a Pixel phone, but my service provider doesn't offer it and I'm not paying the full price for it.
Antonio Villas-Boas, reporter: A Pixel phone, an NES Classic, an Xbox One S, and a furry iPhone case.
Avery Hartmans, reporter: A Bose SoundLink Color Bluetooth speaker. It may not be the biggest, baddest Bluetooth speaker out there, but I love how portable it is (not to mention waterproof). I got one for my sister last year and have been jealous ever since — and if anyone's curious, I'd like it in mint.
