Some Twitter users say their feeds are being swamped with posts from the platform's owner, Elon Musk.

"Is everyone else's entire For You page Elon replies," Platformer's managing editor, Zoe Schiffer, asked her 99,000 followers. The tweet received more than 600 responses with many users complaining about the same issue.

Three Insider employees also confirmed their top tweets were posts and replies by Musk.

Musk appeared to respond to the speculation by tweeting a meme referencing the issue and later saying: "Please stay tuned while we make adjustments to the uh .… 'algorithm.'"

Last week, Musk reportedly fired a top Twitter engineer who highlighted the billionaire's declining view count on the platform.

Musk had asked employees to investigate whether his Twitter reach had been restricted because of a potential issue with Twitter's algorithm, per Platformer.

Employees showed Musk internal data and a Google Trends chart related to engagement with his account, Platformer reported. When one of the company's two remaining principal engineers suggested Musk's view count might be declining due to a lack of public interest since his Twitter purchase, Musk fired him, per the tech newsletter.

Musk has been concerned about view counts and engagement for some time. Earlier this month, he made his Twitter account private for a day to see if it would boost engagement on the platform.

Representatives for Twitter did not reply to Insider's request for comment made outside normal working hours.
