Travis Scott announces 'creative collaboration' with Sony to promote the PlayStation 5
  • Travis Scott is teaming up with Sony to promote the PS5.
  • Details surrounding the collaboration are unclear, but this news comes on the heels of a very successful partnership with McDonald's earlier this summer.
  • Scott posted a video promoting the PS5, which arrives Nov. 12, to his Instagram and Twitter.
  • Fans have speculated the partnership could include sneakers — a shot of what appears to be Sony PlayStation-branded Nike shoes are visible in the video.

Travis Scott is having quite the year, and he shows no signs of slowing down with his brand partnerships.

After the success of the Travis Scott Meal at McDonald's earlier this year, the rapper is teaming up with Sony for a "multi-tiered creative collaboration" ahead of the PlayStation 5 release on November 12, according to a press release from Scott's team.

To kick off the creative collaboration, Scott posted a video on his Instagram page and Twitter showing him sitting on a chair in front of a sound system and TV and booting up a PS5. Scott tweeted the video out with wording "TS5."

The set design of the video — Scott in an armchair, next to a lamp and in front of a screen, encountering wind after turning on the entertainment system — may be a reference to the popular Maxell ad titled "Blown-away Guy."

Scott had previously posted a photo showing him with a PS5 controller on Instagram before announcing the partnership.

"Today we are excited to share with you a unique video, created by Travis to kick off our partnership," said Eric Lempel, Senior Vice President of PlayStation, in the same release. "Travis is an amazing creator, and we strive to work with the best creative minds inside and outside of our industry to continue to surprise the world in a way that only PlayStation can."

While it's unclear exactly what this collaboration will entail, some fans online have been speculating the collaboration will involve shoes after seeing the teaser video, which includes a shot of what appears to be Sony PlayStation-branded Nikes.

"I'm super thankful and excited to be able to bring my strategic and creative vision to the rollout of such an iconic product," Scott said in the same press release. "I've always been a fan of Playstation and the brand they've built, and this is another example of finding a partner who believes in and trusts Cactus Jack to execute for their brand. This is just the beginning of an incredible partnership."

Collaborations are nothing new for Scott. In the past, he has worked with Reese's, Fortnite, and Nike.
