Threads is rolling out some new features in an apparent attempt to lure back some of its users.
Meta has added more Twitter-like features to the app, including one that allows users to see what posts they've liked. The feature, which can be found in the settings sections, was tested on Android last week but is now available to all users who update the app.
Threads also introduced features that allow users to upload high-quality images and videos, and sort follower lists based on "latest first" or "earliest first."
In a Threads post on Saturday, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told users a search function and web version of the platform were also coming "in the next few weeks."
Meta's Twitter clone was one of the fastest-growing apps in history, reaching a landmark 100 million sign-ups in just days. However, the platform's growth stalled after it failed to entice users to return regularly. The app has already lost around 80% of its daily active users, according to data from SimilarWeb and Sensor Tower, which was cited by CNN.
Zuckerberg has been pushing for new Threads features to improve retention rates. Last month, the Meta CEO told employees he considered the drop in active users to be "normal," adding that things would likely improve as the app added more features, Reuters reported.
Meta's chief product officer, Chris Cox, also said the company was working on "retention-driving hooks" to boost daily user rates, per Reuters.
Representatives for Meta did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment, made outside normal working hours.
