"Are you ready for best pizza of life?" the narrator asks, clearly missing a word.

Well unsurprisingly, the ad for a fake pizza restaurant called "Pepperoni Hug Spot" is not real — it's all AI-generated.

The fake pizza restaurant ad was created by a Reddit user named PizzaLater, and was posted to the Midjourney Reddit page.

"Definitely wasted 3 hours of my life making this today," PizzaLater wrote, noting that he used tools like ChatGPT Plus to write the script, and Runway Gen2, a text-to-video AI tool, to create clips for the ad.

The ad has all the makings of a normal pizza ad, with clips of families eating together, a chef tossing dough, and toppings being sprinkled on a pizza.

However, it's easy to tell that something is ... off.

For example, the family's eyes move in all different directions, and the chef's arm has smoke billowing from it.

"Our chefs make pizza with heart and special touch," the ad says, not too far off something a normal pizza ad would say. Toppings at Pepperoni Hug Spot include the usual: cheese, pepperoni, and vegetables, but also "more secret things."

Twitter user @gaut shared the ad to the social media platform, drawing a response from Pizza Hut's official account.

"my heebies have been jeebied," Pizza Hut wrote.

Even Twitter CEO Elon Musk replied to the video with a mind blown emoji.

The ad also includes a delivery option, and shows an AI-generated man driving a car and bringing a pizza delivery bag to a front door.

Apart from an at-times grammatically incorrect script, something else the AI-generated ad can't get quite right is videos of people eating pizza. For example, one clip of a woman eating pizza looks like she's eating her plate.

The thirty second ad ends with a slogan that says, "Pepperoni Hug Spot, it's like family, but with more cheese."

In a conversation with Insider, Reddit user PizzaLater, who declined to share his real name, said he was inspired to make the fake pizza ad after seeing a viral AI-generated video of Will Smith eating spaghetti.

"The results were pure nightmare fuel," PizzaLater said about the pizza ad, but added that he's "kind of blown away, because never before have we had a tool like this at our disposal, for better or worse."

While the technology he used to make the fake ad concerns him, he said it's also "very exciting" and helps inspire creativity for him as a commercial motion graphics designer.

He said he had ChatGPT Plus write three different scripts, then pieced together his favorite parts from each for the video. The title was also generated by ChatGPT Plus, he said. He's even set up a website with merchandise for Pepperoni Hug Spot.

"I think we're all sort of sitting on this odd cusp of AI, where, just a few months ago, it wasn't much more than a buzzword, and now with GPT4 and Midjourney, and obviously now with Google, and I think Meta is also working on a text-to-video, I see this just having huge implications for all of us," PizzaLater said.
