The 1991 season three premiere of "The Simpsons," titled "Stark Raving Dad," is missing from Disney's new streaming platform, Disney Plus. The episode featured the voice of Michael Jackson, though he's not officially credited in the episode.
Disney Plus is the exclusive streaming home of the long-running animated series, which Disney acquired in its purchase of Fox's film studio and many of its television assets. The service includes all 30 seasons, minus this episode. Season three starts with its second episode in the service's list.
A Disney Plus representative did not immediately return a request for comment from Business Insider.
"Stark Raving Dad" was pulled from broadcast television earlier this year after two men accused Jackson, who died in 2009, of sexually abusing them when they were young boys in the HBO documentary, "Leaving Neverland." Jackson's estate denied the allegations.
"I'm against book-burning of any kind, but this is our book and we're allowed to take out a chapter," James L Brooks, a "Simpsons" producer, said in March of the decision.
The Jackson estate sued HBO for $100 million, claiming that HBO violated a non-disparagement agreement related to a 1992 concert film with "Leaving Neverland." A federal judge denied HBO's request to dismiss the case and moved it to arbitration in September. The premium cable network filed a notice to appeal the ruling last month.
