To paraphrase a famous line from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," a movie that many of today's teens have likely never seen, "Internet culture moves fast. If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you might miss it."

Fast is an understatement. Internet culture is ever-changing and constantly evolving, with new memes, trends, and platforms emerging and falling out of favor so quickly it can make your head spin.

If you're a certified "old" - aka a baby boomer, Gen X-er, or even an older millennial - staying informed of what "the youth" are up to online can feel like a full-time job. But it can be hard to navigate our brave new world without at least a working knowledge of what's currently cool on the internet. And if you're a parent it's even more important to know what teens are getting up to online.
