Spotify has recently announced a visual revamp for its desktop app. According to a blog post by the company, the new update brings the desktop version in line with the mobile app, focusing on enhancing the "Your library" and "Now playing" sections.

While the main content area, where users can explore music and podcasts, remains unchanged, the left side of the app window introduces a new "Your Library" section. This addition provides convenient access to podcast collections and saved music, helping users save time and easily switch between playlists.

To make the app more compact, users can click on the "Your library" button to collapse the library. Additionally, playlists can now be pinned in the Library, and users have the flexibility to drag and drop songs into editable playlists. On the right side of the app, the "Now Playing" section displays the current song or podcast and offers more information about the content, including details about the artist, tour dates, and merchandise. For certain podcasts, Spotify enables users to follow along with transcripts as they listen.

Both the "Now Playing" and "Your Library" sections can be resized according to individual preferences. To access the "Friend Activity," users can simply click on the "friends" icon located next to their profile picture in the top right corner of the screen.

Spotify has already begun rolling out the redesigned app to desktop users worldwide, ensuring a consistent and improved experience across platforms.
