Seeking nominations for the top angel investors funding creator economy startups in 2023
- Insider is compiling our 1st annual list of the top angel investors in the creator economy.
- We want to hear from you about who the standout angels and solo investors are in 2023.
From Hollywood celebrities to startup founders to influencers, the creator economy has been bootstrapped by many famous angel investors.
Typically high-net-worth individuals, angel investors provide startups with funding using their own money, unlike venture capital firms.
For instance, Grammy-winning electronic music duo The Chainsmokers have invested in several creator-economy startups, including a recent investment into the digital-goods marketplace Whop. And Jack Conte, CEO and cofounder of Patreon, has also invested in several up-and-coming creator startups, like financial-management company Stir and online courses startup Creator Now.
In July, Insider highlighted 14 top venture capital firms with investors focused on the creator economy. Now, we want to hear from our readers about who the leading angel investors are in the space.
Who are the most sought-after angel investors? What names should every founder in the creator economy know?
Insider is putting together our first annual list of the top angel and solo investors who are backing innovative creator-economy startups in 2023. The list will be determined by Insider based on our reporting and the nominations that we receive. We will take into consideration factors like the success of the startups in their portfolios and their relative focus (and impact) on the creator economy as a whole.
In order to be considered for this list, angel investors must have written checks to at least two startups between January 2022 and August 2023.
