- Its ultrawealthy guests began landing this week for the summit at Sun Valley, Idaho.
It's that time of the summer again when billionaires, CEOs, media moguls, and other power brokers unite for some luxury in the outdoors and the chance to talk about the issues of the day — and maybe even seed some megadeals.
The economy's elite may have much to discuss in a year marked by massive layoffs in tech and in newsrooms, the spread of generative AI, and high-profile labor disputes (the Hollywood writers' strike is now at its third month).
In the meantime, they have trickled into the Sun Valley Lodge for the annual conference by investment firm Allen & Co., a dayslong event expected to kick off in full on Wednesday.
