A new leaked video from a Tesla factory shows the latest prototype of the forthcoming Cybertruck, including the closest view yet of the side-view mirrors and large windshield wiper that had to be added to satisfy US road safety regulations.

"The wiper is what troubles me most," Elon Musk tweeted after drone footage revealed a similar redesign of the Cybertruck back in December. "Deployable wiper that stows in front trunk would be ideal, but complex."

The new footage, posted on the Cybertruck Owners Club Youtube channel, shows the human scale of the novel pickup truck, likening it to a stainless steel refrigerator.

"Man, tell Elon he's doing too much," one person is captioned as saying.

A person in the video also expresses doubt that the single wiper blade can clear the entire windscreen, but a second gestures to a spot where it is expected to arc past.

Also viewable in the video are the side-view mirrors, which Musk said in tweets are mandated to be on all new vehicles, though customers can choose to have them removed after purchase.

As expected, none of the doors have visible handles, and appear to require a phone or proximity keycard to access the cab.

A person in the video is also captioned describing how the rear of the truck will lower at the press of a button, enabling the tailgate to become a ramp for loading heavier items, such as a four-wheeler.

The Cybertruck in the video is still in the concept prototype phase, and Elon Musk promised an updated timeline for production at Tesla's fourth quarter earnings call after the bell on Wednesday.
