  • If you are in the market for a pair of truly wireless earbuds and want something that is easy to use, read on to find out if these Realme earbuds fit the bill.
Realme Buds Air 2 is the latest audio product to be launched by the company, promising a premium experience at a fraction of the price.

Some of the highlights of Realme’s latest earbuds are features like active noise cancellation (ANC), dual microphones for noise cancellation during calls and 25 hours of playback time.

I have been testing the Realme Buds Air 2 for a while now, and here is my detailed review.

Realme Buds Air 2 price and availability

The Realme Buds Air 2 are priced at ₹3,299. They come in two colour combinations – black and blue, and silver and white. You can purchase them from Flipkart and Realme online store from Mach 2.

Design, build quality and comfort

Since earbuds are something that you use frequently throughout the day, especially for calls, design plays an important role in improving the experience.

There are two aspects to look for here – the case and the earbuds. The case is important because it will be opened and closed several times a day, while the earbuds are visible to everyone else.

Thankfully, these Realme earbuds tick both the boxes. The case feels solid and has a reassuring feel when the lid is opened or closed. It is relatively flatter and wider when compared to other earbuds with similar cases – this makes it easy to slip the case in the pocket or in a bag.

The earbuds themselves sport a somewhat familiar design but look and feel sturdy. It’s also easy enough to pick them out of the case. They offer a great fit and feel comfortable to use even during extended calls.

Performance and call quality

The Realme Buds Air 2 promises a lot when it comes to performance and features. The highlight is ANC – a feature that is usually found only in high-end earbuds. Thanks to their design, these earbuds also offer passive noise cancellation, and when combined with ANC, they help filter out most of the low-frequency noise.

This allows users to focus on whatever they are listening to – be it music, voice calls or streaming videos.

There is a transparency mode as well that lets you stay aware of your surroundings or talk to others without having to take off the earbuds.

Switching between ANC and transparency modes can be done with a single click.

These earbuds also support high-quality audio streaming thanks to a 10mm Hi-Fi Driver. In my experience, the overall sound quality was very good with a good balance between bass and treble.

Battery life

Realme promises 25 hours of playback time on a single charge – with the earbuds alone offering 5 hours of battery life. With ANC turned on, the total playback time is rated at 22.5 hours.

In my experience, with mixed usage of ANC and transparency modes, I could use the earbuds for over 22 hours on a single charge.

These Realme earbuds also support fast charging, so a 10-minute charge gives you a 2-hour boost in playback time.

Verdict

The Realme Buds Air 2 offers a significant improvement over its predecessor in terms of design, performance, features as well as battery life. ANC helps them stand out in this price segment.

For regular usage, and for most of the people who want a pair of truly wireless earbuds that get the job done without any fuss, the Realme Buds Air 2 is a great option.
