At 12:54 a.m. Friday, President Trump tweeted that he and First Lady Melania Trump had both tested positive for the coronavirus and would begin quarantining immediately. By 5:30 a.m., the tweet had already become Trump's most retweeted and shared post of all time, Sara Fischer at Axios reported.

As of about 3 p.m., the tweet had more than 394,000 retweets, 483,000 quote tweets, and 1.6 million likes.
The president was tested for coronavirus after one his counselor
"Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!" he said. Within a few hours, Trump announced that he and Melania Trump had tested positive as well.
RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, who was with the president last Friday, also tested positive for COVID-19 this week. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, who debated Trump this week, tested negative for the virus according to his doctor.
