Pixel Watch 2 gets set to take on Galaxy Watch 6 and Apple Watch Series 9 in India

• Google is scheduled to host the Made by Google event on October 4 in New York.
• The tech giant will launch the Pixel 8 series and the Pixel Watch 2 at the event.
• Google has announced that the Pixel Watch 2 will be launched in India on October 5.

Google is all set to host its Made by Google event on October 4 where it is scheduled to launch the Pixel 8 series and the Pixel Watch 2. The tech giant had already confirmed the launch of the Pixel 8 series in India and has now confirmed that the Pixel Watch 2 will also arrive in India too.

To recall, the original Pixel Watch, which was launched along with the Pixel 7 series was not launched in India. Google has now posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the Pixel Watch 2 will be available in India exclusively via Flipkart.


Google has not revealed any information about the price and specifications of the device. However, the company has revealed some of the design elements in its video.

Google Pixel Watch 2 – everything we know so far

The Google Pixel Watch 2 is expected to feature a similar design as its predecessor. It is, however, expected to come with minor changes, both to its exterior as well as interior.

The Pixel Watch 2 will come with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. To recall, the Pixel Watch was launched with a 5ATM rating. The crown on the Pixel Watch 2 has also been tweaked when compared to its predecessor.

The Pixel Watch 2 is expected to be equipped with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Plus chipset and run on WearOS 4. The smartwatch is expected to feature an aluminium body.

The upcoming smartwatch is expected to offer a battery life of 24 hours with the always-on display enabled.

Increased competition for Galaxy Watch 6 and the Apple Watch Series 9

The Pixel Watch 2 will take on the recently launched Galaxy Watch 6 and the upcoming Apple Watch Series 9 in India. The Galaxy Watch line-up has so far been one of the only premium mainstream smartwatches in India.
