The Oppo Watch is a great example of what happens when companies focus on using the best hardware possible that is needed to offer a fast and smooth user experience. It has brought Wear OS back to life at a time when the Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch and others have been clocking in big sales.

Oppo Watch price and availability

The Oppo Watch pricing in India starts at ₹14,990 for the 41mm variant. The 46mm variant is priced at ₹ 19,990. It comes in three colours – black, rose gold and silver. It is available for purchase on Amazon and Flipkart.

Oppo Watch quick review

The Oppo Watch might not sport a completely original design, but that doesn’t take away anything from the fact that it is an attractive smartwatch that performs well on most fronts. It’s got a stunning display with the perfect curves, brightness, and resolution.

Oppo has been generous with the memory and storage, so using it is a breeze despite Wear OS’ drawbacks. Coupled with a deeply customized system, it offers a fluid experience, which is a rare achievement for any Wear OS smartwatch to date. The watch comes packed with fitness features that allow you to track different activities.

The powerful hardware and features can take a toll on the battery life, though. To overcome this, Oppo has added a secondary chipset with the sole purpose of maximizing battery life. It kicks in when the power saver mode is enabled, and kills smartwatch functions and serves as a digital watch.

Overall, the Oppo Watch is the perfect showcase of what’s possible when a company truly understands the needs of its customers. It’s the best combination of a simple yet functional design, powerful hardware, and abundant fitness features.

Oppo Watch design and display – inspired, but elegant

One of the criticisms of the Oppo Watch has been its design. Oppo has drawn a lot of inspiration from the Apple Watch, and while this is usually frowned upon, the end result is you have a rather elegant looking Wear OS smartwatch.

The Oppo Watch keeps things simple. It has a curved display thanks to the flexible OLED technology used by the company. This makes it a delight to navigate around the user interface. It has two buttons on the right, and one of them can be customized to trigger any activity or launch an app.

There’s a heart rate sensor under the watch.

In our usage, we found the display to be bright and responsive. It is readable under direct sunlight as well.

Oppo Watch performance – feature-packed and smooth

As we’ve mentioned before, the Oppo Watch is one of the fastest and smoothest Wear OS smartwatches to date. Oppo has done a great job optimising the Watch despite the shortcomings of the Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset and Wear OS, which are the two most crucial aspects of the smartwatch.

In our testing, the Oppo Watch was a treat to use, be it the fitness features, using third-party apps, or simply navigating around the interface.

As far as fitness features are concerned, the Oppo Watch comes with Google Fit integration. This lets you track your steps, workouts, calories burned, and activity sessions. Apart from this, Oppo has also added several useful features like 5-minute workouts, breathing exercises, and five other workout regimes.

You can also monitor your heart rate and sleep using the smartwatch. It offers 5ATM water resistance, so you can track your swimming sessions as well.

The Oppo Watch promises 36 hours of usage in smart mode. In our experience, it lasted an entire day filled with various activities, requiring us to put it for charging towards the end. While this is a decent performance, it could have been better.

Oppo has tried to overcome this to an extent with its VOOC flash charge technology. This allows the Watch to charge from 0-46% in 15 minutes. A full charge takes around 40-45 minutes.

Should you buy the Oppo Watch?

The Oppo Watch is easily the best Wear OS smartwatch you can buy right now. It offers a smooth and fluid experience. It comes loaded with features and offers a great balance between performance and price. There’s hardly a misstep here.

The only mild criticism could be the design, but this is subjective. In the end, it looks elegant, and if that’s what matters to you, then this is the smartwatch for you.
