OnePlus recently launched its second tablet, the OnePlus Pad Go, in India. The tablet is an affordable offering that has been launched after the success of the OnePlus Pad that was launched earlier in 2023.

The OnePlus Pad Go has been placed in the entry-level segment and will take on the likes of the Realme Pad X, Galaxy Tab A9+, Lenovo Tab P11 and more.

I have been using the OnePlus Pad Go for a few days now, and here is my detailed review of the affordable tablet from the Chinese smartphone maker.

OnePlus Pad Go price and availability

The OnePlus Pad Go has been priced at ₹19,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB Wi-Fi variant, ₹21,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage LTE variant and ₹23,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage LTE variant. The OnePlus Pad Go is available from Amazon, Flipkart, OnePlus online store, Reliance sDigital, Croma, and OnePlus authorised stores across the country.

The OnePlus Pad is available in a Twin Mint colour option.

Unlike the OnePlus Pad, the Pad Go has not been launched with a Magnetic Keyboard or the OnePlus Stylo support. The company has only launched the Folio Case, which is priced at ₹999. This limits the usage of OnePlus Pad Go.

Design and display

OnePlus hit the nail with the design of its first tablet and the new affordable offering OnePlus Pad Go is not far off. It comes with a sleek design.

The tablet comes with a dual-tone design at the back, with a glossy plastic finish at the top and an aluminium alloy bottom. While the aluminium part does not attract fingerprints, the plastic part does.

The tablet is lightweight so despite the large display and battery, you do not worry about holding it for long durations.

It comes with a minimalistic design, a circular camera module at the back and comes with the OnePlus branding in the middle. Apart from this, there’s nothing at the back.

OnePlus Pad Go volume rockersSourabh Jain

Like its first tablet, OnePlus has placed the volume rockers considering that the tablet will be used both vertically and horizontally. They are on the right side when held vertically and on the top when used horizontally. The power button is on the top when held vertically and on the left side when held horizontally. This makes it easier to use the volume rockers and the power button.

The tablet features quad speakers, two each on the top and bottom when held vertically and on the left and right sides when used horizontally. The OnePlus Pad Go comes with Dolby Atmos support, offering an immersive audio experience.

The tablet comes with a USB Type-C port for charging. The LTE variant comes with a SIM slot on the top.

OnePlus Pad Go displaySourabh Jain

Coming to the display, the OnePlus Pad Go features a 11.3-inch 2.4K LCD panel with 90Hz refresh rate. It offers up to 400 nits brightness. While an AMOLED display would have been better, the OnePlus Pad’s display is bright and vibrant.

The display is decent and the brightness offered is enough to get the job done.

Software and performance

The OnePlus Pad Go runs on Android 13 out of the box with the company’s OxygenOS 13.2 skin on top. The tablet is able to effortlessly connect with OnePlus smartphones.

OnePlus Pad Go comes with OxygenOS 13.2Sourabh Jain

The device comes with all the features you would expect from a tablet, including split-screen support, making multitasking a breeze. It offers a smooth user interface with minimal bloatware and comes with features such as auto-connect, which allows you to easily connect the tablet with your smartphone and also allows you to view OTPs on the tablet.

The OnePlus Pad is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. The device has two variants – 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage.

While the Helio G99 is not an extremely powerful chipset, it is decent for day-to-day usage. Gaming is a different task as the chipset struggles a little to handle intensive games.

The OnePlus Pad Go is equipped with an 8,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The company has claimed that the battery offers 40 hours of music playback and offers a standby time of up to 500 hours. During my usage, the battery lasted around two days with mild gaming and streaming.

Camera

The camera is not a strong feature for the OnePlus Pad Go. It is equipped with an 8MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera. Both the cameras are capable of recording 1080p videos at 30 FPS.

The cameras are enough to click pictures in good lighting conditions but cannot be your go-to option for photography.

The OnePlus Pad Go is a decent option if you are looking for a tablet around ₹20,000. It comes with a cleaner and feature-rich UI when compared to other options such as the Realme Pad X or the Lenovo Tab P11.
