With approximately one month left until the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, we now have a fair understanding of what to anticipate from the next iterations of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. Numerous leaks in recent days have provided significant insights into the phones' potential appearance and specifications, offering a sneak peek prior to their official unveiling.

On July 25th, a Twitter leak by Revegnus showcased an image of a folded phone, seemingly the Galaxy Z Flip 5, concealed within a sturdy, black case. While the case obscures much of the device's design, visible elements align with previous renders that have surfaced. For example, the back screen is speculated to be a 3.4-inch 720 x 748 cover screen, as previously predicted. Additionally, discernible are the side-by-side camera lenses, supporting the rumours of an updated design feature for the phone.
Galaxy Z Flip 5 specifications
The latest leak by tipster SnoopyTech has divulged the complete specifications of both the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. According to the leak, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will sport a primary (foldable) screen measuring 6.7 inches, with Full HD+ resolution and a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. Additionally, it will feature a 3.4-inch cover screen with a resolution of 748x720 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. This larger screen is expected to be utilised for camera functionalities, music controls and specific applications.

In terms of performance, the leak suggests that the foldable phone will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 8GB of RAM, and internal storage options of either 128GB or 256GB. As for its camera capabilities, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is said to house a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 12MP (F1.8) lens and a 12MP (F2.2) lens. On the front, it will feature a 10MP (F2.4) selfie camera.

Other notable features include a 3,700mAh battery, support for 25W fast charging and wireless charging, 5G connectivity, GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port. The phone will be available in four colour options: cream, graphite, lavender and mint. When folded, it reportedly measures 7.19 x 8.51 x 1.51 cm.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 specifications
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to have a 7.6-inch primary screen with a resolution of 2,176x 1,812 pixels and a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. The cover screen, measuring 6.2 inches, will offer a resolution of 2,316 x 904 pixels and also support a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the phone is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, accompanied by 12GB of RAM and storage options of either 256GB or 512GB. Notably, it possesses an IPX8 water resistance rating.

It reportedly features a 50MP (F1.8) primary camera, a 12MP (F2.2) ultrawide camera, and a 12MP (F2.2) telephoto camera. For selfies, it offers a 4MP (F1.0) front-facing camera internally, along with a 10MP (F2.2) front-facing camera externally.

Connectivity options for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 include 5G support, GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port. The device is expected to launch in three colour variants: cream, icy blue and phantom black, and it is estimated to weigh approximately 253g. Powering the phone will be a 4,400mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.
