Netflix mobile games are now available globally for Android users, iOS users may have to wait

• Netflix is expanding mobile games to Android users across the world.
• There are five Netflix games in total that can be downloaded and played on the Android app.
• These games are free and come bundled with the Netflix membership.

Netflix started testing mobile games in August this year with Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3 for Android users in Poland. The streaming service is now making mobile games available globally with a total of five titles. Netflix mobile games can be played on Android, and at no additional cost for members.

Netflix is launching five mobile games including Stranger Things: 1984 (BonusXP), Stranger Things 3: The Game (BonusXP), Shooting Hoops (Frosty Pop), Card Blast (Amuzo & Rogue Games), and Teeter Up (Frosty Pop). Other than the Stranger Things titles, the rest are casual games not based on Netflix original content.

These games will be visible on Netflix Android in a dedicated games tab below as well as a new games row. Once you tap on any game you will be redirected to the Google Play Store to download it. You can play these games on multiple mobile devices using the same account. Some of these games can be played offline too. There is a limit though on the number of devices you can play on but Netflix did not specify the number.

Netflix is also offering these games in different languages, but if it’s not available in the language of your choice, then the game will be available in English by default. Also, the Netflix mobile games are accessible only on adult profiles.

Netflix confirmed its plans of entering the gaming space earlier this year in July. Shortly after, it announced the first titles Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3 in Poland. This was only a test and Netflix said it’s still in the “very, very early days” with lots of work to do in the months ahead. It later expanded the lineup with three more games — Shooting Hoops, Teeter Up and Card Blast, and for Netflix members in Spain and Italy.

These mobile games are not available on the Netflix iOS app yet and there’s no word on the release yet. But Netflix did say it will offer games on mobile devices first, and it plans on expanding on more devices later. The company’s expansion into gaming will also initially be more experimental, and reliant on user feedback.
