Netflix has today announced a new option to its rating system, dubbed as Two Thumbs Up. Users will now have a new option while rating shows and movies that they have watched.

Currently, Netflix offers two rating options – Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down. The new Two Thumbs Up feature will be available for TV, Android, iOS and web users starting from today.

The new rating option is aimed at improving the content recommendations that users receive. Currently, Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down allow you to rate content that you like and don’t like, respectively. The new option is for content that you love and want to see more of.

What is Two Thumbs Up and how does it work?

The Two Thumbs up feature allows the platform to show you similar content or shows and movies with the same cast or directors.

For example, if you have recently watched a movie or show and really loved it, you can use the Two Thumbs Up option and you will start seeing related content or content with similar cast in your recommendations.

“A Two Thumbs Up tells us what you loved and helps us get even more specific with your recommendations. For example, if you loved Bridgerton, you might see even more shows or films starring the cast, or from Shondaland,” Netflix said in a statement.
