Samsung has announced its next Galaxy Unpacked event for April 28, teasing that it will launch its “most powerful Galaxy” device.

Samsung isn’t too forthcoming in its blog post – the invite merely mentions the “most powerful Galaxy” device, but there are no other hints to go on. It could be a phone, a tablet or even a laptop.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is one of Samsung’s upcoming devices, and given the video animation, it is possible to think this is what the company is teasing. However, the box that unfolds towards the end of the video is a bit too wide for a phone.

Plus, some rumours (in Korean) suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 3 could actually launch in July this year, which rules it out for now.

Galaxy Tab devices are also amongst Samsung’s most powerful gadgets, but the Galaxy Tab S7 series – the latest flagship tablet from Samsung – was launched in August 2020. We’re still not close to August this year, which makes it less likely that Samsung is launching a new Galaxy Tab on April 28.

Another report (in Korean) suggests that Samsung could launch a Windows 10 laptop powered by its own Exynos chipset with AMD graphics. This could fit into the “most powerful Galaxy” narrative.

Aside, the most recent Galaxy laptop was launched way back in 2019, so Samsung is due for a refresh. With PC shipments (including laptops) in the first quarter of 2021 hitting a new high in the last two decades, it could be the right time for Samsung to refresh its Galaxy Book laptop range.
