After months of leaks and rumors, Xiaomi has finally confirmed the launch of its next flagship smartphone series- Xiaomi 13, in China on December 1. The company will also take the wraps off the next version of its operating system, MIUI 14. Plus, the brand will also showcase the Xiaomi Buds 4.

The Xiaomi 13 series and MIUI 14 will launch on Dec 1, 2022 at 7 PM China time and 4:30 PM India time.

The Xiaomi 13 series smartphone are expected to feature the new MIUI 14 operating system paired with the new Android 13 OS.
Expected features of MIUI 14
MIUI is a custom operating system, and the latest version of MIUI is said to come with a slew of new updates compared to the current MIUI 13 update.

The company has yet to reveal the exact features of MIUI 14, it is hinted that OS will be lighter than its predecessor, meaning it is likely to offer a custom and streamlined user experience.

It is also expected that the company could remove ads within the UI to make it fast. Besides this, we can also see new and more customizable options for the home screen, similar to iOS 16.
MIUI 14: Supported device
Currently, all Xiaomi smartphones running on the Android 12-based MIUI 13 update will be eligible for MIUI 14 update.

In India, devices like Redmi K50i, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Redmi Note 11 Pro+, Poco F4 5G, and many more are likely to be the first smartphones to get an MIUI 14 update in the first quarter of 2023.
Xiaomi 13 series: Expected specifications

The Xiaomi 13 series could feature two smartphones, Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. Both devices could feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and up to 12GB of RAM.

Xiaomi 13 could come with a 6.2- inch AMOLED display, whereas Xiaomi 13 Pro could have a 6.7-inch LTPO E6 AMOLED display coupled with a 2K resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.

Coming to the battery and optics department, the Xiaomi 13 will be powered by 120W fast charging support and a 50MP Sony IMX 800 primary lens.

Further, Xiaomi 13 Pro will sport a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a telephoto lens. The device could sport a 32MP sensor for video calls and selfies on the front.

It could sport a 4,800mAh battery that will support 120W fast charging.
