Microsoft has announced the release of its AI-powered "Recall" feature for Windows 11. The feature, which is currently in preview and available to Windows Insiders with Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs, allows users to search for and retrieve information from past activities on their devices.

The release of Recall was delayed due to security and privacy concerns. However, Microsoft has assured users that the feature is now safe and secure. To use Recall, users must opt-in to save snapshots and enrol in Windows Hello.

zRecall works by capturing screenshots of user activity and allowing users to search for specific information within those screenshots. The feature also includes a "Click to Do" capability that enables users to complete tasks based on the information retrieved from past activities.

Microsoft has addressed privacy concerns by making the feature opt-in, encrypting data, and requiring Windows Hello authentication for access, thus ensuring that user data remains secure on the device.

Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel can now experience Recall firsthand. To join the Dev Channel, users need to register for the Windows Insider Program, link their Microsoft account used for signing into Windows, select the Dev Channel in the Windows Insider Program settings, and check for updates to receive the new build.

Microsoft's Recall feature has the potential to change the way users interact with their devices. By providing a powerful and intuitive way to search for and retrieve information from past activities, Recall could save users time and increase productivity.
