Windows 11 will start rolling out starting on October 5. Many of you might be wondering what the latest generation Windows OS brings to the table. Well, there are plenty of new upgrades to design, layout and improvements to the multitasking features.

As per Microsoft, most PCs that could run Windows 10 are expected to be compatible with Windows 11. Here, we look at the additional features available on the upcoming Windows upgrade that will make multitasking even better. These features include creating and managing virtual desktops and the snap layout feature to structure your screen.

Virtual Desktops

If you are somebody who needs to create different desktops for work, school and personal usage, you will not need to get a new monitor since Windows 11 allows you to manage multiple virtual desktops and toggle between them.

You can customise the background of each of the virtual desktops as per your liking. If you wish to view or create new virtual desktops, you can scroll over Task View on the Taskbar or click the Windows key and Tab key together. This feature is similar to that found in macOS for creating virtual desktops.

Snap Layout

Snap layout feature allows users to group multiple applications together in a grid, just like you can do on Android or iOS devices. This feature can allow users to organise their screens in a better manner and clear the clutter.

Another snap layout feature is the Snap Group feature. This feature allows users to split their screen and view all the Windows and applications that are open on a single screen without having to toggle between them.

Using Snap Layouts, you just have to hover your mouse over the maximise button of any open window. You can choose a layout to split the screen, and click on the area in that layout to position the open window to your desired zone on the screen. You can keep doing it for multiple windows and organise them all on a single split screen. This feature will allow users to take multitasking to another level.

More on what these features have to offer would be known when Windows 11 is rolled out on compatible devices.
