Going premium: Motorola gets set to launch the Razr 40 series and here is what will be on offer

Motorola has recently introduced the Motorola Razr 40 and 40 Ultra models in China and subsequently announced the availability of the Razr 40 Ultra in India. The company has created an Amazon microsite featuring the official specifications of the device's latest iteration. The Razr 40 Ultra, as mentioned on the microsite, will showcase the "world's largest" cover display and claim the title of the thinnest flip smartphone ever produced. The external screen of the smartphone will measure 3.6 inches and feature a pOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, along with a resolution of 1056x1066. Gorilla Glass Victus will protect the screen for added durability.

The upcoming foldable Android phone will mark Motorola's third venture into the clamshell design. In the past, Motorola introduced the Moto Razr foldable phone in 2020 and subsequently released an updated version in 2021. However, the latest iteration of the smartphone showcases a significantly revamped design that sets it apart from its predecessors. Motorola has dedicated substantial effort to refining the overall aesthetic of the device, resulting in a distinct appearance that bears little resemblance to its earlier models.

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra: Specifications

The outer panel of the Moto Razr 40 Ultra will come equipped with customizable shortcuts and extensive support for various apps. In the released images on Amazon, one can observe features such as music controls, Google Maps navigation, app notifications, a weather widget, and more.

On the inside, the device will sport a 6.9-inch LTPO screen with an impressive refresh rate of 165Hz. This display is designed to deliver over a billion colors and achieve a peak brightness of up to 1400 nits. It will be HDR 10+ compliant and SGS Eye Protection certified, ensuring a visually immersive and comfortable viewing experience.

Motorola promises a premium "touch and feel" for the Moto Razr 40 Ultra. The complete specifications of the device will be revealed on June 22, as stated on the Amazon product page.

In the Chinese edition of the phone, expect a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU and a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 12MP primary sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor that can also function as a macro lens. The Moto Razr 40 Ultra is anticipated to make its debut in India within the sub-Rs 80,000 price range.
