Gamblers are betting a Ford F-150 will beat the Tesla Cybertruck in a tug-of-war rematch
Some bettors are siding with Ford in an anticipated tug-of-war between its F-150 and Tesla's Cybertruck.
The gambling website MyBookie listed the F-150 as the favorite, at -120, as of Friday morning, while the Cybertruck was listed at +100.

The gambling website MyBookie listed the F-150 as the favorite, at -120, as of Friday morning, while the Cybertruck was listed at +100. That means one would have to bet $120 to make $100 if the F-150 wins, while one would make $100 off a $100 bet if the Cybertruck wins. Bets will remain open until December 4, so the odds could change before then.
During Tesla's Cybertruck unveiling on November 21, the electric-car maker showed a video of the Cybertruck beating an F-150 in a tug-of-war. Four days later, a Ford executive appeared to challenge Tesla to a rematch, linking to an article suggesting that the trim level Tesla chose for each vehicle may have given it an advantage. Ford's public-relations department soon walked back the executive's tweet, saying it was a joke.
Neil deGrasse Tyson also raised questions about Tesla's video, saying the result may have had to do more with each vehicle's weight than their engines.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk accepted the Ford executive's apparent offer and told a Twitter user on Monday that he planned to film a new test next week.
Many of the Cybertruck's listed specs - including its towing capacity, maximum payload, and exterior storage space - top those of the 2020 F-150, though the Cybertruck is not set for release until the end of 2021. By then, an electric version of the F-150 may also be available.
