Elon Musk visited Auschwitz on Monday — and he brought his kid with him.

The Tesla CEO and owner of X, formerly Twitter, was seen in photos at the former Nazi death camp in modern-day Poland, part of a trip organized by the European Jewish Association.

Photos showed him attending with the right-wing media personality Ben Shapiro.

One of Musk's children was also with him; 3-year-old son X Æ A-XII was seen on his dad's shoulders in photos published by the French-language newspaper L'essentiel.

There aren't any other toddlers in photos, and it might not be too hard to figure out why.

Auschwitz is a solemn and harrowing place. From Auschwitz's website: "It is not recommended that children under 14 visit the Memorial."

Its rules also say that all visitors must behave with "due solemnity and respect."

It's unclear exactly what Musk and X did at the site beyond what we see in the photos.

One photo was taken in front of the infamous "Arbeit macht frei" sign at the site's entrance. A second looks like it was taken just inside the complex.

A BBC article said Musk undertook a "private visit" where he laid a wreath and took part in a memorial service. It didn't mention what X did beyond appearing in the photos.

He was invited to attend after apologizing for promoting an openly antisemitic post on his social network, formerly Twitter and now also called X.

Elsewhere at the site, the Auschwitz museum contains harrowing accounts of the mass killings there, and exhibits depicting the confiscated shoes and other possessions of the victims.

Musk is engaged in a long-running custody battle over X and his siblings with the kids' mother, Grimes.
