Elon Musk appears to be pressing ahead with his plans to fight Mark Zuckerberg.

The billionaire wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday that their highly anticipated cage fight will be live-streamed on X. Musk did not provide further details on when this would happen, and Zuckerberg is yet to weigh in on his comments.

"Zuck v Musk fight will be live-streamed on X," Musk wrote. "All proceeds will go to charity for veterans."

Musk also said Sunday that he is gearing up to go head-to-head with the Meta chief by "lifting weights throughout the day."

The X owner said he brings weights to work because he doesn't "have time to work out." He was seen doing a bicep curl Friday in a livestream video on X to test out the platform's feature. He lifted the dumbbell and said: "This is me curling a 45, so there you go."

An X user asked Musk what the point of the fight is and whether it is simply to motivate him to work out. Musk responded: "It's a civilized form of war. Men love war."

The two tech leaders and rivals agreed to battle out their differences in June after Musk hit out at Meta's plans to launch Threads. An X user warned him to "be careful" because Zuckerberg practices jiu-jitsu, and Musk fired back that he's "up for a cage match." Zuckerberg was quick to accept his invitation on an Instagram story and wrote: "Send Me Location."

The pair are "absolutely dead serious" about fighting each other, according to Dana White, the president of UFC, who said he talked to them both on the phone.

White's representatives contacted a senior Italian government official after Italy's culture minister reached out to Zuckerberg to float the idea of the billionaires dueling at the Colosseum in Rome. There's yet to be an official announcement of whether it will go ahead and when or where it could take place.

Meta, X, and Elon Musk didn't immediately respond to Insider's request for comment made outside normal working hours.
