Elon Musk has too much to do.

In a virtual interview at the G20 summit in Indonesia on Monday, Musk talked about how his workload has changed since his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter.

"My workload has recently increased quite a lot," Musk said. "I have too much work on my plate, that is for sure."

Musk, who's also the CEO of Tesla, talked about running Tesla's global operations, noting that he runs the electric vehicle manager "with great difficulty."

"I'm working the absolute most that I can work — morning to night, seven days a week," Musk said in the interview, dressed in a traditional Indonesian batik shirt. "The amount that I torture myself is next level, frankly," he added.

Musk said his workaholic ways were not "something I would recommend."

This is not the first time Musk has spoken about his extreme work habits.

In a 2015 interview with The Wall Street Journal, Musk described himself as a "nano-manager" who was obsessed with "product-related issues."

"I have OCD on product-related issues," Musk told the Journal.

"When I see a car or a rocket or spacecraft, I only see what's wrong. I never see what's right. It's not a recipe for happiness," he added.

Since taking over at Twitter in late October, Musk has laid off 3,700 employees — or about 50% of the workforce — and required that all remaining employees return to working from the office, 40 hours a week.

Musk did not immediately reply to Insider's requests for comment.
