Elon Musk took a playful dig at Jeff Bezos on Monday: The Tesla CEO replied to Bezos' tweet about Amazon's success with a silver-medal emoji.

Musk's reply harked back to a statement he made last month. After surpassing Bezos as the wealthiest man in the world, Musk told Forbes he'd send Bezos a silver medal and a giant statue of a 2.

Musk's tweet was in response to the Amazon founder's tweet on Sunday about the people who'd doubted the e-commerce giant in its early days.

"Today, Amazon is one of the world's most successful companies and has revolutionized two entirely different industries," Bezos said.

The wealth gap between Bezos and Musk has widened. Last month, Musk became only the third person to have their wealth surpass $200 billion, Forbes said.

Last week, Musk's net worth jumped by about $11 billion, according to Bloomberg, as his space company became the second-most-valuable private company. SpaceX's valuation soared by 33% to pass $100 billion on Friday.

Over the past few years, Musk and Bezos have traded the title of wealthiest person back and forth. Musk is valued at about $223 billion, while Bezos' net worth is about $191 billion, according to Bloomberg's Billionaires Index.

The two billionaires have long been rivals. Earlier this year, Bezos' space company, Blue Origin, called NASA's decision to award Musk's SpaceX a $2.9 billion contract for a lunar lander "unfair." Blue Origin brought the issue to federal court in August.

Also in August, Kuiper, an Amazon subsidiary, filed a protest letter with the Federal Communications Commission over SpaceX's plans to expand its Starlink satellite network. In response, Musk said Bezos had "retired to pursue a full-time job filing lawsuits against SpaceX."
