The company formerly known as Twitter held its first all-hands meeting on Thursday, but neither Elon Musk nor CEO Linda Yaccarino was at the X headquarters, Fortune reported.

Friday is one year since Musk concluded his $44 billion purchase of Twitter, and the inaugural all-hands was arranged to mark the anniversary.

Although the company's top brass weren't in San Francisco at the time, and instead conferenced in, Fortune wrote, citing an unnamed X employee.

According to the outlet, Yaccarino was in New York, while Musk was in Austin, Texas.

Insider reached out to X for comment but didn't immediately hear back.

One of Musk's first moves when he took over Twitter was to crack down on remote work. In a 2:30 a.m. email, he told staff to return to the office for at least 40 hours a week.

For those who were at the San Francisco headquarters on Thursday, there were sandwiches from upscale food chain Mendocino Farms, per Fortune.

On DoorDash, a sandwich from Mendocino Farms costs around $15. The company also offers catering services, but these prices aren't disclosed on its website.

Regardless of the cost, it's an interesting perk given Musk's move to get rid of free lunches at Twitter HQ soon after he took over the company.

In a post on X, Musk said that the company's future all-hands meetings will be livestreamed on the platform.
